Visitors are always welcome at First Baptist Georgetown.  We look forward to you joining us in worship and fellowship.  Below, you will find some useful information that we hope will make you feel more comfortable before you visit us for the first time.

Where are we located?

We are located in Georgetown, Kentucky about 20 minutes north of Lexington.  Please visit our "About Us" page for a map and driving directions.

What is the service schedule?

Sunday school begins at 9:15 A.M.  There are classes for adults, young adults, youth, and children.  Our worship time begins at 10:30 A.M. (please check calendar for specific dates)  We also have Wednesday night Bible study beginning at 6:00 P.M.  Our Bible study is a family-oriented walk through God's Word led by our Pastor.

How do I become a member?

Membership at First Baptist Church is achieved in one of four manners:

  • By Baptism:  Acknowledge your need for Jesus as your personal savior.  Repent of your sins; invite Him into your life as your personal savior;  confess Him as your Lord.  Persons who have not been immersed by "believer's baptism" are also received by baptism.

  • By Letter:  Transfer your membership from another Missionary Baptist Church.

  • By Christian Experience:  If for some reason a letter of transfer is not available.

  • By Watch-Care:  If your stay in our community is temporary (usually a year or less).

The New Members' class imparts foundational knowledge about Jesus Christ, Salvation, Baptism, Tithing, Worship, Prayer, and Stewardship.  New Members class is taught by one of our senior deacons and meets every Sunday.

How do I get involved?

As stated in Matthew 9:37, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few."(NIV)  First Baptist Georgetown is always looking for laborers wanting to use their spiritual gifts and talents for serving the Lord.  Please visit our "Ministries" page for more information about our ever-growing ministries.

What do we offer for children?

We have evolving ministries that nurture the lives of our children.  Please visit our "Ministries" page for more information.  Children are also welcome to worship with us during the worship service, or they can attend Children's Church, which begins when regular service begins.
